Speaker Placement for the Best Audio Experience

Your unit's sonic performance should be at its peak to give you that incredible cinematic audio experience. That depends largely on the way you position your speakers in the room. After connecting all the necessary cables and wires to the amplifier or player, place your centre channel speaker directly above or below your TV. Be sure the unit's front edge is aligned with the TV's front edge to reduce distortion. Next, side speakers should be placed on either side of the TV, positioned at an angle so it would point to the centre of the viewing couch across the television. For best results, elevate the speakers to ear level using a shelf, stand, or side table.

Surround speakers should be arranged beside or just behind the viewing couch and pointed towards the seat's centre. They should be elevated to avoid drowning the sound of your front speakers. A good rule of thumb is to place them at ear level while standing. Use shelves or stands to support the surround units.

Finally, place the subwoofer near a wall. Doing so produces more bass, and placing it in a corner will further improve the bass sound.
